Our Hope story began with us living 1,100 miles apart. We were friends who worked for the same company but in different states. Brian had gone through some very difficult circumstances in his personal life and had just started attending Hope after being an atheist for 37 years. Fortunately, an Alpha promo was shown during one of his first weeks at church, so he took the course to learn more about faith. As his faith began to grow, so did our friendship. During the prayer portion of the Alpha Retreat, Brian asked the prayer partners to pray for our relationship. We had both been married before and knew the only way a long-distance relationship would work was with God calling the shots.
