It’s honestly hard to put into words how much these mountains have shaped my life for the better. I grew up in this valley, so aspensnowmass was where I first truly fell in love with snowboarding—and where I started competing in park and pipe as a teenager.
At 21, just weeks after being cleared to ride again from a back injury, I got my third major concussion. That’s when I knew it was time to step away from competitive snowboarding. With so much of my identity wrapped up in the sport, I struggled to “just snowboard.” Eventually, I convinced myself I was done and even started to skip winters for warmer weather.
After nearly two years off, I came back home to aspensnowmass—and that unexplainable magic reignited a little spark I thought was gone forever. I’ve been back home for nearly 10 years now and I can’t imagine my life without winter in my favorite place in the world.
Have you ever ridden aspensnowmass? I’d love to hear your favorite memory! #longloveaspen#aspensnowmasspartner
