Rashaun L. Williams ’01 will receive the
#BennieAward in the Trailblazer category at this year’s
#ACandleintheDarkGala and
#ReflectionsofExcellence student experience at RAYPAC on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11am.
Williams, a successful venture capitalist, guest Shark on “Shark Tank,” and Atlanta Falcons limited partner, grew up on the south side of Chicago with a deep understanding of financial hardship. From living without heat or electricity in the winter to becoming a powerhouse in finance, Williams was determined to change the narrative for his family and community.
After graduating summa cum laude from Morehouse College with a degree in economics, Williams founded the Kemet Institute, providing financial literacy and entrepreneurship classes to underserved communities.
