Same Voice, Different Stage On February 8, Jon Kabongo ( @jon.kabongo ) joined us courtside for our double header and senior night against the York University Lions. Jon Kabogon is a Rap artist from the heart of the city who is no stranger to the game of Basketball. Growing up in a household with high-level hoopers, he carried on family tradition and played D1 NCAA basketball at Virginia Tech. After battling multiple serious injuries and an intense hip surgery, he had to retire from the game in his sophomore year. However, Virginia Tech honoured his scholarship and Jon graduated with his bachelor’s degree in English. Post graduation, Jon found another outlet off the court in his passion for music and has garnered a lot of success in the beginning stages of his music career by being on major platforms and opening for legendary acts.
