CHEERING ON: Junior Iris Burns-Trahanovsky dives into the water during the Tex Robertson Invitational on Dec. 14. The team placed second overall at the meet with a total of 729 points. According to Burns-Trahanovsky, there were a few challenges to the dive part of the meet.
“The diving board at Burnet feels a lot different than the diving boards at [my] home [pool], so that was throwing me off a bit,” Burns-Trahanovsky said. “SInce it was the beginning of the season, and we’d mostly been doing drills and basics at practice, I felt a little unprepared with my competition dives.”
Despite this challenge, Burns-Trahanovsky had fun at the meet. Burns-Trahanovsky’s favorite part was her last dive because of the high level of execution.
“I won, since there was only one girl diver, but that was still fun,” Burns-Trahanovsky said.”It was also really nice that everyone on the team was cheering for me, especially after that last dive, even if Coach Rudy forced them to stay.”
