Gianna Varano (pictured) is quite the decorated athlete. Literally. As she posed for photos, and received kudos from peers and opponents, three medals adorned her neck and a gold trophy was in her grasp. “This feels amazing,” the North Rockland senior said afterwards, still beaming. “The team worked hard and did great, and I’m glad I was able to contribute.” That was understated, on both counts. Because those medals were awarded to her for the high series and high game in the Section 1 girls bowling tournament, and the other was to commemorate the team championship. Another one. Varano excelled and her teammates shined as the Raiders rolled through the tournament to capture a 20th consecutive section title.
