Babyβs first NYC Half π₯Ή
This photo was taken in 2019 when road racing was still quite new to me. I had incredible imposter syndrome. On paper, I donβt think I was even seeded in the top 20.
What you see in this photo was an immense amount of fear. Along with that fear, you can also see excitement, wonderment, curiosity. For I knew that fear was just fuel. Fuel to my spirit. Fuel to reach for things I had never done before.
That day, once the starting gun went off, I transformed my fear into strength.
I didnβt care who was in front of me or who was behind me. I just kept going.
I ended up running my fastest time ever and placing well ahead of what I thought possible - 4th Place and the Top American.
Donβt be afraid of fear. We all feel it. We all experience the vulnerabilities which come with it.
Itβs what you do with fear that matters.
