Warroad's journey in support of Truth & Reconciliation special hockey event was an unforgettable experience. The community gathered to witness the first ever special presentation hockey games to honor the Native American survivors of the Residential/Boarding school era and for all those children who never made it home.
This special edition Warroad Truth & Reconciliation jersey was created exclusively for the event by artist Shawna Grapentine. The players and coaches displayed the jerseys with pride and were a part of an educational presentation to learn more about the initiative and what the jersey represents.
Thank you to the Native American Education Department, the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee, Warroad Public Schools, Nixon Norman Media | Videography / Photography, players, coaches and the community of Warroad for making this event possible.
