Tonight we induct Coach John Dore into the Concordia Sports Hall of Fame! From 1989 until 2015, Coach Dore was at the helm of the Stingers Men’s Basketball team. Over 26 seasons he led us to 13 conference championships, a national championship in 1990 and two second place finishes in 1995 and 2005. Perhaps more importantly, Coach Dore helped inspire hundreds of young men who played for him to be successful individuals after their Stingers tenures, whether it be on the basketball court or in their professions. Coach Dore was also an assistant coach for Team Canada’s junior men’s national team in 1998, as well as Head Coach for many national team entries to the fisu Universiade and maccabiah Games. In 2019, Coach Dore was also awarded the National Association of Basketball Coaches International Lifetime Achievement Award for his individual career coaching accomplishments and lifetime body of work impacting the game of basketball across the globe. 📷 John Mahoney/Montreal Gazette ...
