For our second Black History Month community spotlight, we’re featuring Soul and Smoke!
Soul and Smoke is a fan-favorite barbecue spot in Evanston, founded by Chef D’Andre Carter and his wife, Heather Bublick. From catering to food trucks to expanding their restaurant this May, Soul and Smoke has become a community favorite.
Our team had the opportunity to visit, hear Chef Carter’s inspiring story, and, of course, try the incredible food. Beyond the amazing flavors, we walked away with lessons in determination, patience, and persistence—values that resonate both on and off the field.
