Goalie Brayden Peters ’28 of East Amherst earned MVP honors and four different Crusaders scored as the CHS Varsity Club Hockey team never trailed their rival as they won the private school championship of the Western New York High School Club Hockey League Wednesday afternoon at the KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo.

Nick Scime ’26 of Amherst scored on a breakaway to put Canisius up in the opening minutes of a first period that would end tied at 1.
Captain Conlen Hurley ’25 of Amherst scored the first goal of the second period and Bobby Dickey ’25 of Lancaster scored late to put CHS ahead for good, 3-2.
Peters made key saves in the third with Max Spencer ’27 of Amherst scoring into an empty net off of a faceoff with 1:10 left to help seal it for CHS, coached by Ryan O’Donnell ’17.
