The potential world-record cobia was caught by an 18-year-old commercial octopus fisherman while at a 21st birthday party.⁠ ⁠ After they were done fishing for the day and ran back to port, they took the cobia to the Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative where they had a certified scale.
