A three-time Olympian and the first Black woman to win an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics, Dominique Dawes has been breaking barriers since she stepped onto the mat. Her impact on the sport and beyond is a legacy of excellence, resilience, and grace—paving the way for generations of Black women to follow.
Dawes continues to inspire the next generation through the dawesgymnasticsacademy creating a positive and empowering space for young athletes to thrive! She is also a minority owner of the Washington Spirit!
We are proud to have Dominique as part of the Spirit family and to celebrate her lasting impact during Black History Month!
