“Originally, my dream was to go straight to Susquehanna University after graduating high school in 2021. But in June of that year, I was diagnosed with lupus, which significantly impacted my plans. Unsure how my symptoms would affect my academic life, I had to defer my acceptance. My health challenges delayed my start multiple times, and I ultimately completed my associate degree at a community college in Chicago. Even then, Susquehanna was always on my mind. When I first visited Susquehanna during my senior year, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful campus, the friendly community, and the great opportunities in my major, including the 4+1 Master of Education program. I also found the campus itself intriguing. With unique features like the beekeeping club, faculty and staff serving Thanksgiving Dinner, and sheep “mowing” the grass in the solar array, I knew this was where I wanted to be — even if I couldn't enroll right away.
