As the world advanced, so did Hahnemühle. The 19th century marked a pivotal era when the Industrial Revolution transformed paper production. In 1871, we introduced our first true handmade paper machine, which enabled us to produce paper with exceptional texture and durability while preserving the craftsmanship of handmade paper. ​ ​Amazingly, a machine part from 1871 is still in operation today, a symbol of both our heritage and the lasting quality of our production techniques.
