PERSONAL RECORDS: Freshman Gideon Adair races butterfly during 200 IM race at the District 25-5A swim meet on Saturday, Feb. 1. The team placed fourth overall out of seven teams. Junior Iris Burns-Trahanovsky placed second in the dive meet, while four people advanced to regionals for individual events. All of the relays advanced to regionals. While there was new competition, such as Anderson’s swim team, within the district, Adair believes that the team performed well overall. “I got a few personal records and had a great time swimming relays,” Adair said. “It went well for the team as well; our relays performed well.” Adair’s favorite part of the whole meet was getting to swim in the relays. The camaraderie helped to motivate Adair throughout the meet, especially during the relays. “I didn’t expect to drop as much time as I did,” Adair said. “And that was a great surprise.” The greatest challenge for Adair was staying consistent in practices.
