FOURTH PLACE AFTER UIL STATE PRELIMS: Junior Iris Burns-Trahanovsky dives into the water during the girls one-meter diving competition at the UIL State Championship this afternoon at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Burns-Trahanovsky competed in the preliminary round today, and is currently in fourth place out of 24 divers total. Tomorrow afternoon Burns-Trahanovsky will compete in the finals round at the meet. This is Burn-Trahanovsky’s third time competing at the UIL state meet. According to Burns-Trahanovsky, the meet went pretty well overall. “There were some dives that were a little rough, but overall, it went pretty well,” Burns-Trahanovsky said. “I felt pretty good considering I haven’t been doing my dives for very long.” Burn-Trahanovsky’s favorite part of the whole meet so far has been her last dive. “It was simple, but I just did it really well, and it was very clean,” Burns-Trahanovsky said.
