Some graded frames from Episode 1 of My First Sports Documentary HOWL 🏀🐺 featuring @algonquinwolvesmbb shooting guard @carter_normand 3️⃣1️⃣. Knowing I had the full access and the freedom as the DOP & The Gaffer for the doc, I knew I had to get the interviews lit and sound right. From the pre production phase I knew I wanted to shoot the interview in the locker room to take everyone watching right in the space and the Director @seamusdowney and the producer @dizanno couldn’t agree more with it. Decided to go with a much higher contrast than usual by using only a @aputure.lighting 300X as the key light with a soft box & two layers of diffusion along with a hair light, used the shadow side of a reflector for some negative fill, and getting some soft Rembrandt along the way. We used a LED light to light the jerseys in the back to add some separation. I prefer booms over lavs any day so we decided to run my @sennheiser MKE600 to a mixer and have audio run through that.
