Earlier this month, the Corcoran welcomed the staff of the National Gallery of Art for a small reception to celebrate their new partnership and see beautiful works by Ama BE for the opening of “The Eaten Earth.” Visitors across DC are welcome to visit this free exhibition on view through Dec. 1 (Wed - Saturday, 1-5 pm) at 500 17th Street NW (ring bell and enter through the New York Avenue doors). The artist will be on-site to speak with visitors this Saturday, Nov. 18. Drawing on her Ghanaian heritage, BE uses organic materials to explore African relationships to land, labor, cosmology and migration. BE’s work was developed as part of the Washington Project for the Arts’ Summer Artist-Organizer-in-Residence program held in Gallery 102, where she participated in the first installment of the Research + Practice conversation series produced by Studio Arts. @wpadc @amabefree @corcstudioarts @gallery_102 @ngadc Video by Nicholas Aguirre Zafiro (Political Communication, Communication and...
