The Corcoran sends many congratulations to MC for her exhibition, “Knees.” Located in both Gallery 11 and the Video Nook of the Flag Building, “Knees” combines her identities as a collegiate athlete and an artist in order to explore the depreciation of the body and the built environment.
MC Daubendiek is a queer, multidisciplinary artist and curator. She works in video, photography, performance, sculpture, and painting. She works to craft pieces that engage with their space and aims to create curiosity in others to encourage a sense of presence. In her practice, she hopes people leave the work feeling more aware and invested in their own experiences.
The “Knees” exhibition was created as part of the Luther Rice Undergraduate Research Fellowship, a fellowship that provides funding for those in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences.
