According to USA Today, this election year there are 41 million Generation Z voters, with 8 million of them being first-time voters. Many have said this is the most important election in our nation’s history, but what are some of the key issues being discussed this election cycle? I interviewed University of Texas students on campus about their top issue this election and whether they were able to vote. I spoke with Kevin Gonzalez Hernandez, a sophomore from Miami studying biomedical engineering at the Cockrell School of Engineering; Layla Sullivan, a sophomore from Tyler, Texas, studying radio, television and film at the Moody College of Communication; and Dylan Snow, a sophomore from Richmond, Texas, studying mathematics at the College of Natural Sciences.
