This year’s recipient of the Dick McClure Award is senior men’s team athlete, Charlie Toth. Charlie has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, and athletic promise in his year and a half with the team that represents the spirit and grit of Dick McClure. This year’s award holds a special place to the team as it is the first awarded since McClure passed away last summer at the age of 89. We thank Coach McClure for his persisting support of developing athletes and the impact he has had on the SFU Rowing program and the local rowing community to this day. It is with his contributions that athletes on the team now can continue to succeed in the sport without financial constraints.
