During this past week’s CHS Companions trip to Puerto Rico, one of several service activities included students volunteering at love4satos, a nonprofit which rescues homeless dogs.   Students cared for dogs while helping with general chores for the organization, which helps the many “satos” – stray dogs – in Puerto Rico. The U.S. territory has a significant animal overpopulation issue as there are an estimated 500,000 stray dogs on the streets of Puerto Rico.   “They were such an incredible group, very hard workers and thoughtful with our rescue pups,” a Love4Satos representative said of the CHS students. “Thanks to all for including our organization in this service trip.”   Learn more about the group, located in the city of Guaynabo, at love4satos.org    The CHS contingent will be returning from Puerto Rico late tonight.
