The residence hall within the Unit 6 housing project is expected to accommodate more than 1,100 undergraduate students in apartment-style units. In addition, the building will provide a “healthy food market” on the ground floor, according to UC Berkeley’s instructions on naming the hall. According to the project’s website, construction began last July. The project is slated to open by the fall 2027 semester, according to campus’s community message.
