Meet Nina Pollak ’26, a political science and Spanish double major making her study abroad dreams come true in Granada, Spain, through the IES Abroad Liberal Arts & Language program. Nina’s days are filled with immersive Spanish classes, fascinating courses, and an internship as an English teaching assistant. Nina lives with a host family, enjoying daily Spanish conversations and discovering the beauty of Granada’s culture. “Granada is magical!” Nina says. “You will instantly fall in love with the árboles de naranjas that line the streets and the city’s rich history with its fusion of Moorish and Spanish influences. The charm of Granada is undeniable.” Nina’s mornings start around 7:15 a.m. when she gets ready and eats breakfast before she walks to the IES Abroad Center. She alternates between two and four classes a day, and in between, she either grabs coffee with friends, fits in a gym session, or eats lunch with her host family.
