“My time at the U of A has taught me that life and learning are not linear. When I started university as an eighteen-year-old recently diagnosed with ADHD, my confidence was nonexistent and I feared I would never be capable of my true passion: studying the environment. It wasn’t until I attended the U of A’s school in Cortona, Italy, that I learned how rewarding it can be to take a risk. My experience studying abroad led me to continue my travels to the Island of Elba in the Tyrrhenian Sea, where I fell in love with scuba diving and decided to transfer into a program where I could study the world I love to explore. Finally, I feel I am exactly where I am meant to be. I will have to take an extra year of school to complete the requirements for my new program, but I am happy to do so and I am so grateful for every experience that brought me to this position.” Quinn is a third-year Environmental Studies student from Leduc, AB.
