A crowd of predominantly student and faculty demonstrators gathered this morning between the College of Arts and Sciences and Van Warmer Hall at 8:00 AM.Â
The protest was made in opposition to the Ohio Legislature’s fast-tracking of the current Senate Bill 1, which takes a broad-brush approach to DEI prohibitions. Amid a growing crowd outside the Teachers Dyer College, the University Board of Trustees convened a meeting with President Neville G. Pinto and other administrative staff in room 407 of the building. Chants of “Whose campus, our campus” and “unlock the door” resounded as participants flooded the front and left side entrances of Teachers-Dyer college, surrounding the meeting chamber.
