We're here for another #InTheWeeds Q&A with our substance use experts to get their thoughts on cannabis as a form of medicine. Medical cannabis usage is a highly debated topic with lots of nuanced opinions. But what we do know for sure is that THC, the psychoactive compound found in cannabis, can relieve symptoms of medical conditions, but it won't address the root cause of symptoms. Typically prescribed to treat pain or increase appetite, the THC in prescribed medications is not the same as the form found in cannabis. It undergoes meticulous FDA testing and is formulated in controlled doses. Ultimately, always consult your doctor with questions and to see what's best for you!
