Jutta Kleinschmidt: The first woman to win the Paris Dakar Rally! Kleinschmidt is a German-born driver who won the 2001 Paris Dakar Rally, becoming the first woman to take outright victory at the notorious event. She began her motorsport career on motorbikes, competing in the Dakar for four years before switching to four wheels in 1995—six years before her win. Kleinschmidt also has a degree in physics, spending six years with BMW as an engineer in their research and development department before shifting her focus to racing. During her career, Kleinschmidt has raced for teams such as Mitsubishi Motors, the Volkswagen Works Team, and, most recently, ABT CUPRA XE! Jutta Kleinschmidt is most certainly one of the coolest women in motorsport history! 📸: ABT CUPRA XE, @juttakleinschmidt #WomenInMotorsport #RallyDriving
