Reggie’s Manga Cafe is the creation of owners Kryston Skinner and Devon Sifford, who took a monthlong trip to Japan together in summer 2023. By bringing some of what they saw back to the states, they hope to create an environment where community members can connect. “We really wanted to make a space that we felt was lacking when we were growing up,” Skinner said. “For the under-18 crowd, it’s really hard to find places to go after a certain time, or even at all sometimes.” Reggie’s Manga Cafe will open its doors to the public Saturday, March 1, with an all-day celebration. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors of all ages can browse, listen to live music and participate in an in-store scavenger hunt. At 6 p.m., the store will transition to 21+ and include a Sapporo beer keg, video game consoles and skewers grilled to order.
