All proceeds from tonight’s specialty jersey auction benefits the Be Like Brit Foundation (blbhaiti), a Worcester based non-profit honoring Britney Gengel’s wish of serving the children of Haiti. Britney Gengel, who was born in Worcester and raised in Rutland, was a compassionate and spirited 19-year-old who set out on a journey of hope to Haiti with a dream of making a difference. Tragically, she lost her life in the devastating 2010 earthquake, but not before expressing her heartfelt desire to open an orphanage for the children she had grown to love.
