Mark your calendars, the Bentway Block Party is just a week away! With street food, live music, an art market with @torontoartcrawl and more, there’s something for everyone at our biggest community event of the year 🙌 We’re excited to showcase performances by Toronto’s own @maracatumaraberto and @towaacking throughout the day! Afro-Brazilian community percussion group Maracatu Mar Aberto will be playing Maracatu de Baque Virado and bringing rhythms, songs, and movement derived from the traditions of Northeastern Brazil. T.O. Waacking is a community dance collective striving to respectfully practice and evolve the street dance called “waacking”, a dance style emerged from LA’s queer night club scene as a form of self expression. Bentway Block Party is a place for everyone. Join us on August 13 anytime from 12pm-9pm! Free RSVP at the link in our bio. 📷️ 1, 2: Michael Zender 📷️ 3, 4: @amandaleecoffey
