An investigation by Texas game wardens uncovered a black-market deer breeding ring that was allegedly smuggling deer, falsifying records, and disregarding regulations in order to circumvent CWD rules.⁠ ⁠ More than 20 suspects have been charged with around 1,200 crimes as a result of the ongoing investigation.
