Sabine Schmitz: The Queen of the NĂĽrburgring đź‘‘
Schmitz was born in a German village close to the famous NĂĽrburgring, originally following her parents footsteps into the hotel and catering businesses. However, the fierce woman had a different calling in life: conquering the Green Hell.
Schmitz isn’t known as the “Queen of the Ring” for nothing—she was the first woman to win the Nürburgring 24 hours event, doing so twice (1996, 1997), followed by a third place in 2008, and drove an estimated 20,000 laps around the notorious track 🏆
Sadly, the talented driver passed away in 2021; however, she lives on in the hearts and minds of countless drivers across all areas of motorsport đź’ś
