This year marks the 60th anniversary of a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement. #OnThisDay in 1965, approximately 600 #civilrights activists began a nonviolent march from Selma to Montgomery for African American voting rights. After crossing the Edmund Pettis Bridge, Alabama state troopers threw tear gas and clubbed marchers to the ground. The protestors did not fight back, and the incident was televised worldwide on what became known as Bloody Sunday.
