Yet, they are among the first to suffer the consequences of climate chaos, war, and economic injustice.⁣ ⁣ 80% of people displaced by climate disasters are women.⁣ ⁣ Women land defenders face increasing violence—2023 saw a surge in attacks against those protecting forests and water.⁣ ⁣ In many countries, rising toxic masculinity—fuelled by reckless politicians—threatens hard-won gender rights.⁣ ⁣ While we celebrate progress and call to accelerate action, we must recognise the struggle.
