#InternationalWomensDay 🩷Today we honor and thank The Junior Service League of St. Augustine, a group of women who restored the fire-damaged 1876 Keepers’ House and eventually the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The restoration started in 1980 when 16 volunteers from the Junior Service League started raising funds to restore the structures. They raised $1.2M to repair the historic house, then asked the Coast Guard for the 1874 tower! It was during this time that the Bud Light Twilight Lighthouse Run began, an annual fundraiser now called the Lighthouse 5K & Fun Run.
