This has been achieved not only through minimising the carbon footprint of our business’s activities on the ground but by collecting and remitting payments from our guests to BioCarbon Partners, that enables this organisation to protect the forests and crucial ecological buffer zones surrounding the Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa National Parks. Chiawa Safaris’s carbon footprint is recalculated annually (& even the domestic flights of our guests and the footprint of our conservation activities are included) by BCP who in turn invoices us for the settlement of Verified Carbon Credits - which are strictly audited annually by VERRA, the world’s leading voluntary greenhouse gas program.
