#ItTakesaWoman: Dr. E. Delores Stephens has dedicated more than 50 years of extraordinary service as a Distinguished Professor of English at Morehouse College, profoundly shaping the lives of students and colleagues with her expertise in English literature and commitment to academic excellence. In recognition of her legacy at the College, Dr. Stephens was one of two Presidential Award of Distinction honorees at the 2025 Convocation in which her oil portrait that will be displayed in the the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel was unveiled. Dr. Stephens is celebrated as a trailblazing educator, scholar, and mentor whose guidance has transformed the lives and careers of world-class Morehouse Men who now shape the nation’s consciousness.
