Almost forgot about my annual state meet post. First things first, very disappointed by the lack of fireworks for the 2ND year in a row — this really used to be a thing at the end of the meet!! Other than that, I really enjoyed this experience. I actually had way more fun competing in 4 events than I thought I would. Originally, I wasn’t sure if it would prove to be too much of a challenge. It didn’t help that a bunch of people kept suggesting that I drop events. I never considered their suggestions because I really wanted to try this. I knew it might be difficult to do everything at a high level, especially considering high jump and long jump were going on at the same time. Once I started competing I never had a chance to leave the field due to going from one event to the next and had to run the 200 in the middle of triple jump, but surprisingly, I had my best jumps after the 200!
