To commemorate utunions’ three-weekend celebration of the cactuscafeatx’s 45th anniversary, utsdct Design Lab assistant Gabi Williams conceived, designed and printed a special poster to mark the achievements the eight artists who sold out the club during the event. Each commemorative poster is a true “one-of-one” design, individually customized for each artist and incorporating both letterpress and screen print techniques. Gabi printed the posters on the Design Lab’s five antique presses, and the fonts are from rrk.ut’s collection of 150 typefaces from the early 1800s, on loan from ransomcenter. Performers who sell out future Cactus Cafe shows will also receive these one-of-a-kind posters.
