As part of tonight’s ceremonial puck drop, we would like to welcome BB, a true survivor. BB was found with three broken legs, but thanks to Lucky Dog Refuge, made a remarkable recovery. His best friend, Ren, couldn’t be here tonight because she’s still gaining confidence, but her story is just as inspiring. She and her siblings were abandoned at a vet’s office, and while the others were rescued, Ren was left behind until Lucky Dog stepped in. Thanks to the incredible kindness of Islanders fans, Dave and Catherine and their daughter, Samantha, both Ren and BB have found their forever home, where they spend their days running around the living room together as best friends. Not only is tonight’s puck drop dedicated to BB and Ren, but also to all the other countless lucky dogs still searching for their forever homes.
