🇨🇴 A coffee drink inspired by a soccer team nicknamed “The Coffee Growers” (Los Cafeteros)? How could I not 😅 ⚽️ With the Colombian Men’s National team playing today in the Copa America, this seemed like a great opportunity to make a coffee drink based off of one I actually had in Colombia. Cafe Campesino is similar to Mexican Cafe de Olla, with spices and a simple syrup made from panela (unrefined cane sugar, similar to piloncillo). If you don’t have panela or piloncillo, you can use a dark brown sugar instead. To make the Miel de panela syrup, take equal weight of panela and water, boil and reduce it to a syrup texture. Cool and refrigerate for later use.
