Burnley College Welcomes Archbishop.
The Archbishop of York visited today to share his views and take questions from the College’s A Level Religious Studies Students. He met with community leaders to share a vision of hope for the region.
Our Students quizzed him on a wide range of topics; how he became an Archbishop and the routes into a career in the church as well as tougher questions on the church’s stance on abortion and fundamentalism.
The multi-faith meeting saw business leaders, councillors, members of multiple churches from around Lancashire and more come together to discuss how we can work together to improve the lives of everyone in Burnley and beyond.
The meeting was opened with a point about how often the national media concentrates on Burnley as a “deprived” area and how we can help combat that narrative.
