Find someone to hug you like Tunde hugs Shaunta-Maé at the finish line of the #UnitedNYCHalf. 🥹   Growing up, Shaunta-Maé Alexander fought through abuse in the foster care system and diagnoses of Crohn’s disease, endometriosis, and autoimmune diseases. In 2019, she contracted a rare reaction during a routine colonoscopy that left her paralyzed and unable to speak.    On January 1, 2022, Shaunta-Maé bought a Peloton bike and two months later used her hands to propel her legs through a workout. She kept up that routine every day for 30 minutes to two hours, eventually pushing solely with her legs in her first live class with Peloton Instructor Tunde Oyeneyin.    Today Shaunta-Maé and Tunde ran together side by side every step of the way in Shaunta-Maé’s first-ever half marathon. She fundraised for NYRR Team for Kids because she wants to give kids the opportunities she was not afforded growing up.   We are in awe, Shaunta-Maé. Congratulations on your finish. 💙
