On March 6th, 2025, Bow Seat had the incredible opportunity to engage with over 200 high school students at the Boston High School Marine Science Symposium. We led an interactive workshop focused on the history of artivism, highlighting the power of artistic activism in environmental movements. Students explored how printmaking, using natural materials like leaves, flowers, and tree bark from Massachusetts, can amplify messages about conservation and environmental justice. It was inspiring to see their creativity flow as they created their own prints! In addition to the workshop, Bow Seat had a table at the exhibit hall, where students could create buttons using artwork from our previous Contest yearbooks. It was a great way to introduce them to Bow Seat’s programming and spark conversations about how they can get involved in environmental art and activism.
