DP Justin Maguire’s work has taken him to some of the most extreme and breathtaking locations on the planet, capturing elusive wildlife moments with precision and agility. While filming for the Southern episode of Netflix’s 'Our Oceans' in South Georgia, he faced the challenge of documenting key behaviors that were fleeting at best. Working with elephant seal pups meant staying light on foot and ready to move at a moment’s notice, as interactions—like a pup curiously inspecting a penguin feather—lasted only minutes. Filming was done with a RED GEMINI and both a Canon CN10 and CN20, allowing Justin to react quickly and capture these rare, intimate encounters.
