Newly released body cam footage shows the rescue of the Connecticut man who says he was held captive in a home for 20 years. The video, obtained by CBS News, shows a
#Waterbury police officer talking to the man’s stepmother, Kimberly Sullivan, outside the house as the man is being rescued by firefighters from inside the burning home.
It appears the man intentionally set that fire as a way to escape the house he says he has been held captive in since he was 11 years old. Sullivan, who owns the home, has been charged with multiple crimes including kidnapping and cruelty to persons and is out on $300,000 bail.
