The winds have calmed, but the spirit of the community in Gordo remains stronger than ever after an EF-2 tornado tore through Pickens County on Saturday.
While the storm left a path of destruction across farmlands and homes, residents count their blessings that no lives were lost.
Cleanup could take up to a week, but residents aren't waiting for outside help. Stacked emergency supplies line the walls at the fire station, with donations from Tuscaloosa and Northport Home Depot and Lowe's.
