Presenting the trailer of our short documentary “The Quiet Art” which is heading to film festivals around the nation in 2025. “The Quiet Art” is a short documentary featuring Austin Barrette of @barrettesurfboards, a surfer who moved from California to Georgia and found a love in hand-shaping custom surfboards. Austin uses traditional tools and techniques because he values individual craftsmanship over mass production. The film explores his meticulous process, his relationships with customers, and how shaping has changed his lifestyle for the better. Austin views shaping as a lost art and hopes he can inspire others to continue this tradition. His passion exudes from every word and interaction he has with people.
